Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft 2.0: Free Agency Edition
Round 4 – Myles Gaskin – Running Back – Washington
I was debating on whether the Cowboys would go running back this early, and Gaskin would constantly be available and be one of the best players on the board. After a few drafts of trying to decide if defensive end or linebacker would be grabbed here, there was nothing but reaching for a lot of players. Gaskin just made too much sense at the end of the fourth.
Gaskin was really productive at Washington and while he doesn’t have true home run speed, he has amazing vision and football IQ. He waits for his blocks and runs inside really well. He is tough to bring down, breaks tackles, and makes people miss. He will fight for extra yards on both runs and receptions. He seems to have good hands, but for some reason wasn’t used a lot on screens in 2018. When used, he had a ton of extra yards after the catch. He is a willing and fairly efficient blocker.
Gaskin should be available around the fourth round because he was used an absolute ton at Washington. He has a lot of miles on his body, and while he hasn’t been injured, that type of usage gives a lot of teams pause. His lack of long speed and usage means he is a rotational player. The perfect backup running back for the Dallas Cowboys.
