Jalen Guyton – Wide Receiver – University of North Texas/Notre Dame

Jalen Guyton played two seasons at UNT, although he was a three star recruit grabbed by Notre Dame. He was suspended and transferred eventually to UNT. Best I can guess by reading some of his interviews was he failed some classes at Notre Dame, although this is just my guess. Guyton though could surprise a lot of people this preseason.

Being a UNT alumni, I know Guyton and got to watch him play. Guyton can run, at his pro-day it was said he ran a 4.37 and 4.42 40 time. He also 37.5 inch vertical and 10’5” broad jump. Watching him on tape he sells routes really well and once he gets into the open, he can take one to the house at any time. He needs some work, but he can go deep and take the top off any defense.

Guyton will need to work on his actual route running and using his body better against corners. Right now I don’t see Guyton being a guy you can ask to get the tough yards underneath or over the middle, but you can ask him to go deep or return a kickoff and he will shine.
