With Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis on the roster, it’s no question the Mavs need to hit this free agency if they have any chance of contending for the playoffs next season. Here are 5 more free agents the Mavericks should look to sign in July.

Another week brings another set of free agents. (If you’re paying attention, also some really bad alliteration) The Mavs are in a tricky situation as they have enough money to spend on one max free agent or two cheaper but productive free agents. The question will always be, which presents more value to the team?

With the Mavs officially giving up their first round pick to the Hawks, the Mavs will not luck into a Top 5 pick in a rather weak draft class. However, even if the talent is weaker than past drafts, that does not mean the talent isn’t good. A player like Barrett or Culver would be an excellent addition to a team in need of some consistent wing play.

The Mavs will now have to fill their holes through Free Agency which means we could see them try to make a push for a big name free agent. While the Mavs have not had much success bringing in max free agents, the Mavs now have Doncic and Porzingis.

A common and unorthodox rumor with some free agents is they would be willing to accept less to play with Doncic. While we’d love to believe that’s true, time will once again prove money is the biggest deciding factor for a free agent.

Previously I mentioned the Mavs going after Kemba, but I didn’t feel like the backcourt duo of Kemba and Luka was going to be as lethal as it is on paper. Fortunately, there are some free agents I will be detailing in this article that could do a better job even with a similar situation in mind.

With money on our minds, lets look at another 5 free agents the Mavs should look to add to their organization.
