SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA – MARCH 24: Louis King #2 of the Oregon Ducks celebrates after a basket in the second half against the UC Irvine Anteaters during the second round of the 2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at SAP Center on March 24, 2019 in San Jose, California. 7.) Louis King, Forward: (13.5ppg, 5.5rpg, .9spg, 43.5 fg%, 38.6 3p%, 78.5 ft%)

This Oregon Duck is a shot-creating, knockdown shooter. Pull-ups? Yes. Catch-and-shoot from the perimeter? Check.

Louis King has even proved his ability to consistently hit jumpers from created space through rhythm dribbles from NBA range all over the court. He was made to put the ball in the basket.

Outside of his smooth and pure stroke, King was a decent passer off the dribble and in the flow of the offense- although halting ball movement at times looking for his shot. His 6’8” build and 7’ wingspan shows only the beginning of his defensive upside.

As of now, King’s poor defensive stances on-ball lead to his imbalance and frequent blow-bys from stronger and faster guards and wings. His lean build further hampers his current defense as he fails to get through screens and contest bigger wings and bigs (his frame also probably explains his troubles finishing at the rim through traffic).

With the right conditioning and tweaks to his defensive fundamentals, ball-handling capabilities, and court vision, Louis King will be a deadly two-way player in this league.

Bigger risk to re-sign: Kristaps Porzingis or Ezekiel Elliott?. dark. Next
