Tee Higgins – Wide Receiver – Clemson

There will be a lot of people who will want CeeDee Lamb, and rightfully so. However, I just can’t see Lamb making it down to the Cowboys, even at 10. Realistically, Higgins and Henry Ruggs III are probably the better name to look at. I love the speed of Ruggs, but his release against press is sloppy and I think Higgins is the better overall receiver.

Higgins is a tall, quick, and fast. He can get up the field in a hurry and is an issue for smaller corners. Higgins has all the skills, talent, and athleticism you want from your X receiver, but can play any position, inside and out. He gets off the line well and any corner will have to be on top of their game or he will punish them. If he catches the ball, he can take one to the house with a missed tackle.

His route tree at Clemson is pretty limited, but I just don’t see it being a problem for him to pick up the entire route tree. He catches with his hands really well, but at times looks a little lazy on short plays. He needs to stay focused the entire game, no matter what route is called for. He is a willing blocker, but needs to get better. Higgins with Cooper and Gallup or even with Gallup alone helps this team.

Depending on what the Cowboys decide to do with Cooper, Cobb, and Austin receiver could be a huge need this offseason. This is a really deep draft and they may decide to find talent later. Higgins is still a name to keep in mind if the Cowboys find themselves without many receivers on the roster.
