With the Dallas Cowboys not knowing where their compensatory pick(s) will land and what the new head coach and staff will want to do, these picks could very well change. Add in free agency and the draft process and right now it is a lot of guesswork. But this draft fills holes, adds flexibility, and gets some different skillsets onto the roster.

A punter could be picked up late or after the draft like Blake Gillikin out of Penn State, a quarterback like Kellen Mond could be grabbed late or after the draft for depth. There are a lot of holes to fill and after free agency happens, we will know a lot more in terms of what needs to be filled and what direction the staff is going.

This is just the first version of many more to come. Now we start talking about the coaching changes, free agency, contracts, and keep an eye on the draft. The offseason started way too soon for this Dallas Cowboys team looking at who they were supposed to be at the start of the season. We move forward and look toward 2020.

The offseason starts today. The Dallas Cowboys must find a new coaching staff. Establish their needs based on scheme changes. They must decide which players to re-sign and which to let walk. They need to attack free agency and the draft with purpose. There’s a lot to do if they want to get this ship back on course.
