#1-Hello, World Series (2010)

Was there really any doubt as to what would be #1 on this list for the decade? The Texas Rangers were hot off their first ever postseason series win after being the Tampa Bay Rays in five games in the ALDS, before having to face the evil empire.

The New York Yankees caused the end of the first three playoff appearances by the Texas Rangers during the 1990’s, and when the Rangers finally made it back to the playoffs in 2010, it was only natural that the Yankees would be what stood in their way between them and making the franchise’s first World Series appearance.

More from Sports Dallas Fort-Worth

Although the Yankees had the better regular season record than the Rangers, they were the Wild Card team, which gave the Rangers home field advantage for the series. After the Yankees stole game one in Arlington, the Texas Rangers roared back to win the next three games, lost game five, then took care of business back home in game six.

Perhaps the sweetest part of the game six victory was who the final out was against, as Neftali Feliz managed to strike out Alex Rodriguez looking to send the Rangers to their first ever World Series. The great Eric Nadel’s call of the final out still resonates well with me… “Breaking ball. STRIKE THREE CALLED!!! THE RANGERS ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!”

Next. A big deal seems to be on the horizon for the Rangers. dark
