Dallas Cowboys: The 5 most disappointing Cowboys teams ever
By Dink Kearney
2. 2007: 13-3, NFC East Champs, number one seed, 13 Pro Bowlers
After losing in the Wild Card round of the playoffs in 2006, this Dallas team opened the season as Super Bowl favorites and was well on its way as it easily won 13 games and operated as the second ranked offense in the league.
Besides Romo as quarterback, Dallas was an offensive juggernaut with players like Terrell Owens, Terry Glenn, Patrick Crayton, Sam Hurd, Miles Austin, Jason Witten, Julius Jones, and Marion Barber. On the defensive side of the ball, Dallas had DeMarcus Ware, Greg Ellis, Jason Hatcher, Roy Williams, Ken Hamlin, and Bradie James to name a few.
Already the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl and expected to beat the Giants for the third time in a season, Dallas did the unexpected and lost 21-17 to the Giants and the eventual Super Bowl Champions. Dallas was the more explosive and talented team and had whipped the Giants with ease during the regular season.
At the time, the worse postseason loss ever.
Expectation: Super Bowl
Result: Disappointing team
5. 2019: 8-8, lose pivotal game to Philly, and probably the most talented team since Super Bowl Dynasty

This is by far the most disappointing Dallas team in franchise history. Not only did this team have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and the best running back to go with it, but it returned a top-5 defense that was one of the best from the previous season.
Dallas saw Dak improve as a quarterback because of new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, new quarterbacks coach Jon Kitna, and the addition of slot receiver Randall Cobb. With Cobb joining Cooper, Michael Gallup, Tavon Austin, Blake Jarwin, and Jason Witten, this offense was going to be lethal, especially when you added running back Tony Pollard.
This team never lived up to its potential and was more inconsistent than a three-year old with a coloring book. Its so disappointing that the fanbase wants an entire new coaching staff and for Jerry to leave and never come back. Simply put, it was the most disappointing season ever.
And Jason Garrett is still the head coach. Now that’s beyond disappointing to go with yet another disappointing team.
