3. Tyson Chandler

Hands down Tyson “Ty” Chandler is the greatest center in Dallas Mavericks history. In Tyson the Mavericks found a player that was able to hold down the middle so that Dirk could be Dirk. Tyson Chandler and his ability to rim roll after setting a pick helped to unlock Rick Carlisle’s offense. Ty was a tenacious defender that was nearly impossible to stop around the basket.

As Rick Carlisle said during Ty’s ring ceremony ” even though he was not here that long of a time, he an indelible impact on all of us in this franchise. He brought grit, guts, and charisma to one of the really special teams in NBA history.”

Tyson Chandler brought an energy to the game that few players can. His rebounding, and help-side defense were keys to the Mavericks play-off run. Ty had 9 offensive, and 16 total rebounds in game four of the finals. Chandler’s game four performance was series changing.

Tyson Chandler though only a Maverick for two seasons captured the hearts of Mavs fans forever. He gave the team a nasty edge, was the leader of the defense, and elevated everyone around him. His toughness allowed everyone around him to play better on both ends of the court.
