Pac-12 Prospects: WR Lavishka Shenault, Colorado

Commonly known as “Viska”, Shenault grew up in Desoto, Texas before he got a scholarship to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder. In Boulder he became the ultimate “do-it-all” player. Shenault was used just about anywhere in his sophomore season lining up as an X receiver, slot receiver, H-back, running back, and wildcat QB.

Moving him around so much hasn’t helped technically as he is a bit unpolished as a route runner. However, it is hard to find a better combination of body control, hands, and football IQ in a receiver. Even though his route running isn’t as precise, he is still smooth in and out of his breaks and understands how to exploit man and zone coverage.

Through in his stocky build and body control and he also makes for an excellent jump ball receiver. Having Steven Montez as your quarterback can be challenging at times as his shorter accuracy is all over the place. Shenault showed the ability to track any ball in the air and come down with it, even doing so in double coverage.

Shenault was a highly touted receiver coming into this season, and while the production dipped this season, his tape still showed the things that made him so popular. Expect Shenault to be drafted early Day 2.
