With Robert Quinn and Michael Bennett set to become free agents the Dallas Cowboys are in the market for two frontline defensive ends. Here’s the top-5 free agent fits…

Regardless of what scheme Mike Nolan installs next season, the Dallas Cowboys are in the market for pass-rushers. Whether it’s an edge player in a 3-4 or a traditional 4-3 defensive end, it’s clear the Dallas Cowboys need to find someone capable of turning the corner.

Since there’s a strong possibility both Robert Quinn and Michael Bennett will play elsewhere in 2020, the Dallas Cowboys will need to replace two of their top three defensive ends this offseason. And unless they draft one in the first round of the draft, they need to free agency to find a starting caliber player to play right defensive end on Day 1.

Luckily for them this year’s free agent class is deep and options are aplenty for a team looking for defensive end help. Here’s the top-5 options for the Dallas Cowboys

No. 1: Jadeveon Clowney

Age: 26

PFF Rank: 20

I’d be remiss if I left Jadeveon Clowney off a top edge rusher list. Since being drafted No. 1 overall back in 2014, Clowney has established himself as one of the top all around defensive ends in the league. The 6-foot-5 255lbs DE out of South Carolina is the complete package. He’s a run-stopper and pass-rusher. He’s a slash-play machine and when properly motivated, a force to be reckoned with.

Would he fit on the Dallas Cowboys? Hell yeah. Will the Dallas Cowboys try to sign him? Hell no.

Clowney is going to command DeMarcus Lawrence type money and Dallas is not going to pay two defensive ends market setting money. Especially not with so many other needs to address. So while we’re at it, let’s add Arik Armstead, Chris Jones, and Yannick Ngakoue to the list of awesome edge players Dallas won’t pay for.

With that said, let’s move to a moderately priced list of free agents the Dallas Cowboys might consider at DE should they let Quinn walk…
