The Dallas Cowboys should bid farewell to these 5 free agents
By Reid Hanson
Jason Witten
Tight End
While the other players listed will have plenty to offer some other team, I don’t think the same is true for Jason Witten. I imagine the only team he’d play for in 2020 is the Dallas Cowboys and between his declining ability and the new coaching staff, I think the chances of that are slim.
Xavier Su’a Filo
Guard
There are some who are convinced Xavier Su’a Filo is a better guard than Connor Williams. I’m not one of them, but I can see why people prefer the brute strength of XSF over the finesse of Williams. But even those XSF stans must admit their guy has peaked and Williams is still developing.
More importantly, Williams is under contract for cheap two more seasons and with Cameron Fleming and Connor McGovern both on the roster, there’s no need for this guy.

Who are we keeping?
Ideally, I’d find a way to keep Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, Byron Jones, and Robert Quinn. But that would require a long-term deal with Prescott next month, and tagging both Jones and Coop. Quinn would also need to take something a little less than the 3 years/ $35 million Spotrac estimates.
The Dallas Cowboys could also afford to sign a couple outside free agents like S Devin McCourty and/or DT D.J. Reader to round out the roster. There are multiple ways Dallas can go about handling this offseason and we’ll get to that later. For now, I feel good letting these five players walk in free agency.
You can’t keep everyone so which veterans are you good with showing the door?
