There is also a very little chance the Cowboys pick a running back early so there are some names like J.K Dobbins or Clyde Edwards-Helaire that will come off the board before the Cowboys decide to get running back depth. Anything before a 4th or 5th round pick would be surprising. So let’s start there.

If you watched the Senior Bowl this last weekend than the name of Lamical Perine would be one you recognize. Perine played really well in the Bowl and may have pushed himself up the boards, but for now he would be a running back to watch. A potential three down back who struggles in pass protection, he would be great depth. The next name similar to Perine is Joshua Kelley, who helped himself at the Senior Bowl and could be a middle round pick.

If the Cowboys decide to wait until the later rounds or after the draft there should be plenty of players to look at. Deejay Dallas is not the home-run threat some others might be, but Dallas can block and he is an absolute load to bring down. If it is a home-run threat then someone like Reggie Corbin out of Illinois has all the shifty and speed to break one at any point a team could want. Sure, he may not be able to pass protect, but he can create a speed mismatch.
