For the month of January, the Dallas Mavericks only won eight of their 15 games. While they have dealt with some injuries and clutch-time woes, the team should look to use their upcoming 5 game stretch to figure things out in hopes of ending the season strong.

The month of January hasn’t been particularly kind to the Mavericks. Dallas shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr was forced to sit out a few games due to injury, former All-Star power forward Kristaps Porzingis very recently came back from “right knee soreness”,  and the team hasn’t been able to pull out wins in clutch time at a favorable rate losing to the Hornets, Clippers, and Jazz by blowing leads or simply not doing enough with little time remaining.

Now All-Star guard Luka Doncic unfortunately sprained his ankle at practice on Thursday afternoon.

Yet with all this, Dallas sits, albeit uncomfortably, at sixth in competitive Western Conference. The upcoming five game stretch against the Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Washington Wizards, and Charlotte Hornets provides the team with five winnable games to turn their January woes around.

However, with the recent form of the team and the recent injury news, how many games can the Mavericks realistically win?
