Round 1

Henry Ruggs

While there is discussion between Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, and Henry Ruggs III as the top WR, Ruggs has been tapped to the Cowboys more than a few times. Each has some things they do well and each has some areas they need work in, but their upsides are quite high.

Ruggs has all the speed the Cowboys could want and would instantly add a dimension the offense has been lacking. He has the ability to take one to the house at any time and would be an instant upgrade in the kick return game as well. He will likely play more slot than the outside, but with more strength added to him, he could do well on the outside.

Ruggs is a dynamic receiver who separates due to his speed. He can beat press coverage, but his functional strength doesn’t always allow him to keep defenders away. He has a good route tree already and can be used in different formations at different positions to get the ball into his hands.

If the Cowboys want speed and agility, they could easily add Ruggs in the first round. Ruggs impressed at the Combine with a 4.27 40 time and is easily a first round talent.
