Round 3

K.J. Hill

Round three offers some players with different skillsets. If you want top end speed but more physical go with Chase Claypool, if you want an outside guy with more agility go with Quartney Davis, and if you want a multitool go with K.J. HIll.

Claypool has speed but isn’t the homerun type when you watch him play. Davis plays with more homerun ability, but his play strength gets him pushed off the ball. Hill has the route running and smoothness, but is primarily a slot guy.

I went with Hill, because of not knowing what is going to happen with Randall Cobb and Tavon Austin. Hill is a nightmare in the slot with his route running and creates separation easily. He doesn’t have the top end speed others have, but seems to be able to make people miss and tends to get positive yards. He isn’t the homerun others are, but is reliable and gets open.

Hill probably has the best route tree of the third round and would be a cheaper version of Randall Cobb. If Cobb isn’t brought back, Hill would be a solid replacement. Claypool helped himself at the combine, but his tape shows more of a physical receiver.
