NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – MARCH 01: Zion Williamson #1 of the New Orleans Pelicans Dallas mavericks (Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty Images) /

New Orleans Pelicans

It’s safe to say Zion Williamson is a beast! I didn’t think that his game would translate so well, but that’s because I underestimated his game. Zion has a motor that is out of this world. He’s not only bigger and stronger, he works harder than most guys on the court. I have to admit that I’ve changed my mind about Zion since first seeing his highlights about three years ago. After watching him bully NBA players in a way I haven’t seen since Shaquille O’Neal, I’m convinced, This kid is gonna be a problem.

the road to the championship could very well go through the Southwest Division in the near future.

Though they’re currently in tenth place, the New Orleans Pelicans have a good team. During Zion’s absence the Pelicans were led by first time All-Star Brandon Ingram and veteran point guard Jrue Holiday. Ingram is averaging 24.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists this season all career highs. While Holiday is averaging a very respectable 19.2 points 4.7 rebounds and 6.8 assists.

Along with number one pick Zion Williamson, New Orleans is also home to the eighth pick Jaxson Hayes, and 17th pick in last year’s draft Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Both Hayes and Alexander-Walker have shown the potential to become really good players in the future.

The Pelicans also added veterans Derrick Favors, and sharpshooter J.J. Reddick, to go along with former Lakers Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball (who have played well this season). The return of Zion Williamson has the Pelicans looking to make a push for the playoffs, and as a Mavericks fan, I hope they make it. With the Pelicans luck in the lottery they’ll end up with the number one pick in this year’s draft as well.
