Dallas Mavericks: How the Southwest Division will soon be the best in NBA
By Fred Rooters
The Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks are currently in seventh place in the West and look to have a playoff spot locked up. The Mavericks are led by last year’s Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic and the Unicorn 24-year-old Kristaps Porzingis. The Dallas Mavericks are having their best season in years, and they’re a few missed free throws and questionable calls away from having home court advantage in this year’s playoffs.

The Mavericks are definitely ahead of schedule when it comes to their rebuild. Although a lot of attention is paid to stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, the Dallas Mavericks depth is why they sit comfortably in the playoff picture. Delon Wright, Jalen Brunson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Seth Curry, Maxi Kleber, Tim Hardaway Jr. and company have all played extremely well for the Mavericks this season.
The Dallas Mavericks have a historically efficient offense. With the addition of center Willie Cauley-Stein and forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist the Mavericks should improve on the defensive end, making Dallas a scary team moving forward. The Mavericks will most likely make the playoffs, so they might not benefit from the draft like Memphis and New Orleans. They do however have a lot of team friendly contracts and decent cap space, giving Mavs fans something to look forward to.
"Los Angels Lakers star Lebron James was recently quoted saying ” The league is in great hands with guys like Zion, Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, Trey Young, Jason Tatum, and the list goes on and on.”"
With the first three names on the list all in the Southwest Division, fans of the often overlooked Pelicans, Grizzlies, and Mavericks have years of epic battles to look forward to.
