Other options for the Dallas Cowboys

One of the best trade partners in this draft are the Miami Dolphins. They have a lot of picks to jump around with and not worry about giving up a solid draft class. With the Dolphins could do anything and are a wildcard to the entire draft. It is doubtful they would want to trade for the first pick of the Cowboys as they have the 18th pick right after the Dallas Cowboys pick. Unless there is a quarterback and offensive tackle and they went different with their fifth pick.

The Patriots are always likely to trade around in the draft. With Tom Brady heading to Tampa Bay they could be a trade candidate if a quarterback falls and Bill Belichick is looking for the next guy. They have three third round picks and some day three picks stacked up to play around with and certainly could move up if they want.

Regardless of what the Cowboys do at 17, they have options. The problem is this draft can get weird right around 17 and might not fit what the Cowboys want to do. The other question is whether the Cowboys are building for 2020, or building for 2021 and 2022. We have a way to go, but the options are there.
