While the Dallas Cowboys are relying on free agents and the draft to upgrade their team, the hidden gems might already be on the roster.

The Dallas Cowboys allowed several players walk into free agency. And to counter that move, the Cowboys have replaced those players with veterans capable of producing at a decent level for at least the 2020 season.

The Cowboys allowed their best defensive player to walk without even attempting to sign him to a long-term contract in Byron Jones. Heck, the Cowboys didn’t even sit down with the man who was by far one of the best defensive backs in the NFL (forget the lack of interceptions).

After Jones signed a mega deal with the Miami Dolphins, the Cowboys saw Robert Quinn, Maliek Collins, Jason Witten, and Jeff Heath go to the Chicago Bears (1) and Las Vegas Raiders  (3) respectively. Collins, Witten, and Heath all joined the Raiders.

With the Cowboys playing patty-cake with upgrading their roster, this team should be  mindful of three players on the verge of a  break out season and could improve the Cowboys roster immediately.

Those three players, plus an honorable mention are guys you know, but may have forgotten. So ladies and gentlemen, let’s talk about these up and coming players, shall we?
