Dallas Cowboys: Three players who could have a breakout year
By Dink Kearney
The Case for Blake Jarwin, TE
Although Blake Jarwin just signed an extension to remain with the Cowboys, some critics don’t see Jarwin as an offensive threat, let alone a suitable replacement to Witten. I say Jarwin is definitely ready for a break out season – and then some.
When it comes to Jarwin’s potential, the proof is in the pudding, on the table, in the cabinet or wherever it may be, the proof is there that Jarwin is beyond ready for a breakout season.
Our first glance of Jarwin’s talent came in 2018 in the last game of the season against the New York Giants, when Jarwin caught seven passes for 119 yards and three touchdowns in a Cowboys 36-35 win.
In 2019, Jarwin equaled his touchdown total from the previous season with three, but Jarwin’s career totals now stands at 58 receptions, 672 receiving yards, 11.6 yards per reception, and six touchdowns in 33 games.
Considering Jarwin has only started in 11 games, that’s pretty good, and it gives you a glimpse of the future of how good Jarwin can be with more opportunities.

Honorable mention
Trysten Hill had a disappointing rookie campaign and its hard to see this talented defensive tackle not have a bounce back season and show everyone why he was a second round pick. Hill has the potential to be a starting defensive tackle in this league, showing the ability to stop the run and sack the quarterback.
Side note observation: If Randy Gregory and Aldon Smith can contribute at a decent level, Dallas’ defensive line will be one of the best in the league, but that’s a big if on Smith’s part, since he’ hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2015.
In conclusion, Wilson, Armstrong, and Jarwin really have the talent and opportunities to have breakout seasons that can propel Dallas into an indomitable team. If it happens, Wilson will replace Jones’ production, Armstrong will give Dallas another dominant pass rusher, and Jarwin will make Dallas’ the most potent receiving corps in the league, bar none.
Basically, a break out season from this trio covers most of Dallas’ bases, if not all bases. And if Gregory and Smith can at least give Dallas the much needed depth, its just icing on the cake for the 2020 Dallas Cowboys.
And a good draft is having your cake and eating it, too. BOOM!
