Dallas Cowboys 7-Round Mock Draft: No CBs? No Problem!
By Reid Hanson
Round 3, Pick 82
CB, Troy Pride Jr.
Notre Dame
The wait finally pays off for Dallas. Everyone’s favorite Round 3 pick is there for them at Pick 82 and the Cowboys find their starting outside cornerback when they pick up Senior Bowl standout, Troy Pride Jr.
With Byron Jones gone in free agency and Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis likely to follow within a year, the Cowboys desperately need to reinvest in CB. Pride makes sense here because he has the length to play the outside and the polish to do so right away without too many mental mistakes.
Pride doesn’t really have Pro Bowl potential or anything but what do you expect late on Day 2? Pride is another high-character guy who’s extremely intelligent and brings a lot of intangibles to the Dallas Cowboys secondary.
Round 3, Pick 89
CB, Amik Robertson
Louisiana Tech
With their second pick in the third round the Dallas Cowboys get the diminutive, yet feisty, Amik Robertson. Amik is draft darling to many fan bases largely based on his demeanor and aggressiveness. Despite being just 5-foot-9 172 lbs, Robertson is one of the most physical defensive backs in the draft.
He’s going to be relegated to inside nickel in the NFL and that’s not a bad thing if your team is thirsty for playmakers like Dallas. Amik makes a ton of plays on the ball inside and is one of the best ball hawks in the draft.

He has elite athleticism and a mighty mouse mentality. He’s a superstar and he’s going to take someone’s job inside his rookie year.
