Round 1 – Pick 23

Kristian Fulton CB – LSU

With C.J. Henderson off the board and the Dallas Cowboys left staring at some offensive tackles, quarterback, and running back, they trade back with the Patriots who come up for the tumbling QB before either Miami or the Vikings swoop in. For Dallas, there are a few options here with Kenneth Murray, Trevon Diggs, Cesar Ruiz, and Fulton.

Kristian Fulton is a high end corner the Cowboys have talked to already and could step in and replace Byron Jones quickly. Fulton has the ability to track the ball with his back turned and has the speed and agility to stick with any WR he is put up against. The knocks on him are his tackling (which as a corner isn’t as egregious as safety) and some turnover production. He tracks the ball well, so some of the issues could be system and coaching, which all of the Cowboys DBs need after the last regime.

Fulton is instantly an upgrade at corner and should find immediate playing time with the ability to become one of the top two during the season. He is a good pickup in the 20s and will give the Cowboys, at the very least, a Byron replacement under a rookie contract.
