Round 4 – Pick 125

Ben Bartch – Offensive Tackle – St. John’s

This may not be the most popular pick, but looking at who the Dallas Cowboys have talked to this offseason, offensive tackle is a spot to watch. There could be a double dip at corner or wide receiver here and it would be a great pickup as well. Devin Deuvernay is a name to watch here as it Troy Pride.

However, the need for a swing tackle is something the Dallas Cowboys could look at and Bartch was a BPA in this spot. RIght away he could play as the swing tackle as he adds some functional strength to eventually start. Bartch has great footwork and fantastic technique with hands for being a small school player. He steps well and lands punches early. He gets to the next level in the run game quickly and looks for someone to block.

He will need some strength to stand up as a starter in the NFL. That said, he showed up at the Senior Bowl and impressed against better opposition. He adds some ability to kick inside if he adds enough size, but is the swing tackle right away. He isn’t the sexiest pick, but a solid, no-nonsense pick that has tremendous upside.
