Ceasars Sports Book has recently released Super Bowl odds, division and conference odds, and the win total over/under for the Dallas Cowboys – they may surprise you.

Depending on what you think about the Dallas Cowboys and their current talent level, you may be surprised by Ceasars Sports Book‘s recently released Super Bowl odds. Cowboys Nation is notoriously a divided nation. For every optimistic homer, there’s a pessimistic doubter.

You can go ahead and consider these odds, the former.

It’s not like the Dallas Cowboys gave the odds makers a ton to work with. Last season, the 8-8 Cowboys failed to even make the playoffs, so to put them in the Super Bowl discussion seems a little crazy.

Yes, much blame can fall at the feet of Jason Garrett and his recently dispatched coaching staff, but new coaching regimes rarely make an instant impact because new schemes and philosophies take time to hit their stride.

Additionally, the Dallas Cowboys suffered significant losses to both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Randall Cobb made up a significant portion of the offense last season. The Cowboys can’t expect to slide just anyone into his role in the slot and expect business as usual.

Their 19th ranked defense (Football Outsiders’ DVOA) suffered major losses when Byron Jones and Robert Quinn both left in free agency. While it’s possible Randy Gregory, Tyrone Crawford, and Aldon Smith make up for the loss of Quinn, Byron Jones’ absence will be impossible to cover in 2020. Expecting a rookie at either position play up to the previous standard is even less likely.

More from Dallas Cowboys

The only unit that appears to have taken a clear step forward is Special Teams. John “Bones” Fassell is regarded the best ST coach in the business and he brought  the steady Greg Zuerlein with him to Dallas. But considering the Cowboys special teams ranked 32nd in the NFL, “improve” isn’t really saying much and there’s a lot of work to be done for this area of the team to be considered and asset and not a liability.

With all of that said, current Super Bowl odds seem to be favoring the Dallas Cowboys. With 11-1 odds, the Dallas Cowboys have some of the best Super Bowl odds in the NFL. Only three teams have better odds than Dallas.

The Cowboys and Eagles both have an over/under of 9.5 for end of season record, but Dallas beats them out in odds to win the conference with a 5-1 (compared to Philly’s 12-1).

As crazy as it sounds, there is optimism regarding the Dallas Cowboys even though they appear to have taken a significant step back. Let’s call it the “Garrett Bounce”, shall we?

We have yet to have the NFL Draft and much can change between now and the start of the season, but according to the odds makers, the Dallas Cowboys are sittin’ pretty.
