We are now T-minus 6 days from the NFL Draft. The Dallas Cowboys will have the opportunity to improve their roster; for a team entering the season with several holes on defense, who are the Cowboys interested in selecting?

The current pandemic has put a giant hold on the entire world leaving us at home deprived of any sports entertainment. That will change this upcoming week as the NFL draft will be taking place over a virtual medium.

Dallas, much like the rest of the NFL, has had to change their approach to draft season. After the combine, pro days were canceled and, shortly after, so were private workouts and national visits. From a list of events that included Dallas Day, pro days, and informal visits, the Cowboys are now limited to virtual interviews.

However, if we know anything about the Cowboys draft selections, they love to draft the players they interview. In the 2019 draft, defensive tackle Trysten Hill, running back Tony Pollard, and running back Mike Weber were all drafted by the team after visiting with them at the Star. The Cowboys also brought in a couple of prospects who would go undrafted: cornerback Chris Westry and wide receiver Jon’Vea Johnson.

It wasn’t long ago that Jason Garrett said the team was looking for the “right kind of guys” and that they were happy with “their guys.” It is hard to gauge the immediate impact the new coaching staff will have on the team, but it seems they are staying true to finding the best available players according to their interview list.

The list is filled with positions of need, but within each position, there is a wide range of prospects that wouldn’t be typical to the Cowboys draft approach. With edge rushers alone, they’ve interviewed K’Lavon Chaisson, Zack Baun, and Kenny Willekes, three different pass rushers. The defensive tackles range from Justin Madubuike, Marlon Davidson, and Raekwon Davis. The wide receivers include Denzel Mims and Tee Higgins; body types that would not be considered in previous drafts.

Reports and rumors are always buzzing this time but it is called lying season for a reason. With the knowledge we have thus far, I try to find the most realistic options at each pick. Of course, I can not guarantee anyone to be happy with the following selections, however, can I interest you in a possible trade down scenario?
