Dallas Cowboys

Round 5 – Pick 164

Jordan Fuller – Safety – Ohio State

There are a lot of people who see Jordan Fuller as a sixth round player, but without a pick in the sixth and knowing the Dallas Cowboys brought him in, Fuller in the fifth is an interesting and very realistic option. Some will look at Tanner Muse, but there is thought he will transition to linebacker. Fuller gives them the power tackling but needs more work to become a full-time safety.

Fuller is really good at covering tight ends and when he takes a solid angle he enjoys hitting the ball carrier. Was asked to play a lot of single high safety and might do better not having so much responsibility and allow himself to play a half of the field. When he was asked to play over-the-top he played the ball really well and it helped his overall game look better.

Fuller is a developmental safety who would fill  a specific role on the Dallas Cowboys early on. He would be able to start immediately on special teams and his leadership would serve him well as he developed. While he can light up a ball carrier, he will need work on taking better angles and some refinement on technique.
