Darius Anderson

Running Back – TCU

Darius Anderson has some ability in the run game and as a kick returner. Not the fastest guy, but does well to make people miss with some good open field moves. He can take one to the house when the offense is spread out and he gets some room to work. He is a traditional one cut runner who gets up to speed quickly.

Anderson has the ability to take a cut and go against defenses. He has the juice to punish defenders if they miss him. He has the vision and lateral movement to work in small spaces and then get up to top speed quickly. He needs space to work in the open field but is dynamic if he gets it.

Anderson needs to work on footwork and will stutter-step too often behind the line. While he dips his pads on contact runs pretty upright. While he does well in small spaces he sometimes allows linebackers to take him head on which leaves some yards on the field. He is a rotational running back who should not be used in pass protection.

The Dallas Cowboys don’t need another running back on the team this coming season with Zeke and Pollard firmly established as the main runners, but they do need someone to take the abuse of training camp and possibly earn a spot on the practice squad.
