Dallas Cowboys Center Winner: Tyler Biadasz

Connor McGovern being the better overall blocker makes this pick a bit odd, but centers and guards have different responsibilities. Even though McGovern has the versatility teams like, he seems to be better off staying put at guard. The coaches at Penn State came to this realization and it’s possible this coaching staff recognizes this.

Not only would this be good for his development, but also that means the Cowboys would have excellent depth behind Connor Williams and Zack Martin.

More from Dallas Cowboys

Biadasz has the experience of being a center in a scheme that shares some similarities with the Cowboys’ current scheme. He hails from Frederick’s alma mater, which should give him some street cred and the team a reason to believe he can step in and do a decent job as the signal-caller for the offensive line.

Biadasz struggles to deal with the power of defensive tackles but an offseason of recovering from shoulder surgery and some time to work out and getting bigger individually could be all he needs to have a chance against some of the biggest men the league can provide. However, the Badger moves well, has ample intelligence, and displays good enough technique to warrant a spot on the first team.

The team will have an important decision to make, but considering the sustained excellence of Tyron Smith and Zack Martin, along with the improvement of Connor Williams and La’el Collins, whoever steps in to fill the starting center position will be playing with a top offensive line that can hide some his weaknesses.
