We look at who we expect to make the Dallas Cowboys final 53-man roster in Week 1 of 2020 season

Predicting who is going to make the team and who is going to miss the cut over the summer is never an easy task. Doing so with the Dallas Cowboys roster in this, the summer of COVID, is an even tougher task.

But reasonable conclusions can be drawn by assessing the coaching staff’s history (players and scheme), team statements, and assessing final roster moves. From all of this we can determine how this whole thing shakes out.

2020 will see an expanded game day roster of 55, but since the added two positions are predicted to be a revolving door, we’re just going to focus on the traditional 53. So let’s get started…

Dallas Cowboys Special Teams (3)

L.P. Ladouceur, Chris Jones, Greg Zuerlein

No changes and no surprises. Chris Jones, despite not having a true challenger on the roster at this moment, is at the biggest risk of losing his starting gig here. The nine-year vet is coming off his worst season as a pro and at age 30, injuries are becoming a common occurrence from the man affectionately known as “The Puntisher.” It’s not unreasonable to think a camp nobody could walk in and beat him out this year – we just don’t have anyone viable at the moment.

L.P. is a lock since he’s the best long-snapper in the game and Greg “ the leg” is a proven commodity to the new special teams coach, John Fassel.
