Damon Harrison

The first name on the free agent list is of course Damon “Snacks” Harrison. Harrison would probably be the starting defensive tackle to replace McCoy. At 31, he is above that magic 30 year old mark, and injuries and slowing down is something to consider. However, when Harrison is on the field, he is really strong against the run, something the Cowboys certainly need.

Harrison would be the smart pick if the Cowboys decide they need a starter this year while some of their depth players develop a little more (more on them in a minute). The Cowboys faithful have been screaming Snack’s name all offseason and this could push the Cowboys to make a move.

Daniel Wise

A name many will remember is Daniel Wise. Wise was on the Cowboys’ practice squad last season and knows many of the players on this roster already. Wise flashed some ability in preseason and if the Cowboys feel that the mix of Tyrone Crawford, Neville Gallimore, Justin Hamilton, and Trysten Hill can hold down the DT rotation well enough.

Wise would be a depth guy, but has the ability to develop while the Cowboys use Crawford as the other starting tackle. While not the most popular choice, Crawford might be a better fit on the inside than he has at end. Wise allows some flexibility and depth without breaking the bank.
