The Dallas Cowboys Trenches

Offensive Line (9)

Tyron Smith, La’el Collins, Zack Martin, Connor Williams, Connor McGovern, Joe Looney, Tyler Biadasz, Adam Redmond, Brandon Knight

Cameron Erving, the maligned swing tackle they signed in the offseason, is still hurt. I didn’t have him making the team before and I don’t have that happening now. It’s risky rolling into the season with Knight as the primary swing tackle but if you’ve seen Erving play tackle, he won’t make you feel any better.

But enough about my disdain for Erving and how he reminds me of Chaz Green, the rest of the line looks solid and we should be excited about the names competing at left guard and center.

Defensive Line (10)

DeMarcus Lawrence, Aldon Smith, Everson Griffen, Tyrone Crawford, Dontari Poe, Neville Gallimore, Trysten Hill, Antwaun Woods, Dorance Armstrong, Bradley Anae

As I’ve discussed before, it’s going to be a tough call between Dorance Armstrong, Bradley Anae, and Joe Jackson. Not all three are gonna make it and not one of them is very far ahead of the others.  Anae gets by on his rookie status and Dorance edges Jackson because he’s Tank’s primary backup on the left.

Inside, we know the Dallas Cowboys want to keep four. With Gerald McCoy out, space opens up for Trysten Hill. Neville Gallimore is a lock and Antwaun Woods looks like the primary back-up to Poe at the 1-tech. Ron’Dell Carter will hopefully get stashed on the practice squad.
