Dallas Cowboys Standouts: CeeDee Lamb, WR

Status: Rookie

Yes, expectations were high for the rookie WR out of Oklahoma. Seen by many as the best receiver in the WR-rich draft of 2020, CeeDee came in with a top-3 role handed to him. All Lamb has done since Cowboys Camp started, is exceed those already lofty expectations.

Lamb has put on a clinic since camp started. He’s the most polished rookie receiver the Dallas Cowboys have ever drafted. He offers the highlight reel splash plays that Dez Bryant used to bring, and fills in the gaps with consistent performances snap after snap.

Lamb has the benefit of working with Amari Cooper, one of the most technically sound WRs in the game. Coop and Lamb have been working on the nuances of the position and it’s been showing. Lamb was always a safe bet to have a great rookie season but training camp has shown how high his ceiling really is.

CeeDee Lamb may not have the strongest statistical season of his class this season, but that doesn’t mean expectations aren’t going through the roof right now. Lamb’s stock is on the rise because he’s shown he has No. 1 WR ability and All-Pro potential. At this point, it would be shocking if he wasn’t widely considered a top-10 WR by Year 3 in this Dallas Cowboys offense.

Lamb’s working behind a pair of receivers that demand a heavy target share. As such, he’s not going to rack up gaudy stats this first year. But people would be wise to focus on quality and not quantity. CeeDee Lamb is going to excite Cowboys fans this year because of what he does this season and what he projects in future seasons.

Lamb’s stock is undeniably on the rise. Considering his stock was high in the first place, that’s saying something.
