Dallas Cowboys Final 53-man Roster Prediction 2020 (End of Camp)
By Reid Hanson
Training camp is now over and the Dallas Cowboys must make some hard decisions regarding their final 53-man roster
The operative phrase for the Dallas Cowboys this year is “you gotta go shallow somewhere if you wanna go deep somewhere.” With so many questions and even more viable answers on defense, the Cowboys need to go deep at defensive line and defensive back.
To do that they’ll need to go short at well-established and stable positions like running back and receiver. It may seem odd to short the offensive position groups that are expected to carry this team into (and hopefully through) the postseason, but the offense is so strong and so top-heavy, depth is a luxury they can’t afford and hopefully won’t need.
Dallas Cowboys: Special Teams (3)
Kicker: Greg Zuerlein
Punter: Chris Jones
Long Snapper: L.P. Ladouceur
This trio has remained true since Day 1. When the Dallas Cowboys new special teams coordinator John Fassel took the reins, one of the first moves he made is bringing in one of “his guys”. Greg “the Leg” has built a reputation as one of strongest and most accurate kickers in the NFL.
Injuries last season led to struggles – all of which made him expendable to LA. But this preseason he’s been perfect (save for a 60-yarder on Sunday) and for the first time in almost forever the Cowboys don’t have kicking worries.
