Dallas Cowboys: Pick 6
Round 5, Pick 136
CB
Deommodore Lenoir
Here’s another undervalued CB who seems to have some big fans in the draft community. Deommodore Lenoir was one of the top-4 returning Pack-12 CBs this year according to Pro Football Focus
The guy known as “DeDe” is a trash talking firecracker who isn’t afraid to get in a receiver’s face, look back for the ball, or body up against the run. As my tone may suggest, he’s undersized at 5-foot-11, but he makes up for it in girth, being over 200lbs.
DeDe plays inside and outside for the Ducks but in the pros will likely lineup as a nasty slot CB capable of holding gap responsibility against the run, capable of handling dual release, and capable of blitzing. On the Dallas Cowboys I see him as an instant replacement to Anthony Brown, who’s under contract but far from unreplaceable.
He’s a true pet cat of mine and someone I plan to watch a lot this autumn as the Pack-12 picks up steam. He’s hard not to love and someone who would bring a lot of attitude to the Dallas secondary. It’s also not impossible to see him in a slot/SAF role in nickel and dime situations. He can play man or zone and can matchup against pass-catchers who are much bigger. There’s a lot to like here and DeDe projects as a future starting inside CB in the near future.
