5 Dallas Cowboys likely playing their last game in Dallas
By Reid Hanson
Last game for this Dallas Cowboys player
Andy Dalton, QB
As a reliable veteran signal caller and former Pro Bowler, Andy Dalton had multiple offers this past offseason. But he spurned higher offers to come to Dallas. He did it for a couple reasons:
- It was close to home and a comfortable place to regroup after Cincinnati
- It was a high powered offense that he could produce big numbers in if called upon.
Despite pleas from the militantly clueless faction of Cowboys Nation, Stephen Jones has no intention of permanently replacing Dak Prescott with the former TCU star.
The first point doesn’t really need explanation but that second point speaks to his goals and why he’s sure to leave. Andy Dalton wants to play starting QB in the NFL. He came to Dallas because he knew he could put up good numbers standing behind a first class O-line, throwing to the best WR corps in the league, complemented by a rock-solid running game.
He came to Dallas to build his value.
At the age of 33, Andy Dalton has one more shot at signing a QB1 deal and you can bet he’ll take it if offered this offseason. Despite pleas from the militantly clueless faction of Cowboys Nation, Stephen Jones has no intention of permanently replacing Dak Prescott with the former TCU star.
If Dalton can play well again in Week 17, he will have stamped his ticket out of town and will have a handful of teams to pick from.
