Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft

Round Four (2nd pick) – Shaka Toney – Defensive End – Penn State

I know there are a lot of people who want a linebacker, but Toney was the highest rated on the board and fills a depth need for the Cowboys. With the uncertainty of Aldon Smith returning the Cowboys need some extra pass rushing skills on this defense. Toney is a pass rushing specialist right now and should not really be used against the run.

Toney is really quick and has the bend you want from a pass rusher. He needs to add some weight if he wants to be a three down end, but as a pass rusher, Toney is really good. He has the speed to drop into coverage but he needs more power to really be a dominant player. Solid addition for the pass rush.

Round Four (3rd Pick) – Charles Snowden – Linebacker – Virginia

I kept hoping Baron Browning would drop to the Cowboys, but he kept going before I could grab him. However, Charles Snowden is a solid plan B. Snowden is a very long and rangy linebacker who has a massive tackle radius and does really well to spot the ball and hit the proper gap. Standing at six foot, seven inches certainly helps.

Snowden will need to add some size to his frame, and if he does he could be really scary as a defender. The size would help him with his pass rushing skills and tackling against bigger players. His length and height would be a huge addition to the Cowboys. His radius will help with matchups on tight ends.
