Dallas Cowboys: Five free agent players that must be re-signed
By Walter Sharp
Antwaun Woods has spent the last three seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He has been a good contributor to the Cowboys front seven. Lets take a look at the contributions Antwaun Woods has brought since joining the Cowboys.
Antwaun Woods Defensive Stats:
- Total Tackles: 80
- Sacks: 2.5
- Fumble Recoveries: 2
- Pass Deflections: 1
Woods does not have eye popping stats which will make it easier for the Cowboys to appraise and re-sign the young defensive tackle. Dallas could get Antwaun Woods at a discounted price based off the pedestrian numbers he has posted over the years. The need of interior defensive lineman is serious for the Cowboys so they have to lock up their best run-stopper.
Dallas will look to add an interior defensive lineman during the 2021 NFL Draft. If the Cowboys were to draft Christian Barmore from Alabama. Barmore and Woods would be a great one-two punch combo upfront for the Dallas Cowboys.
Antwaun Woods is 28 years old and the Cowboys could offer him a three-year deal that would have him making around four million a year. This would give them enough room to go out and sign another piece on defense as well.
The key for the Dallas Cowboys is to not over spend on Woods. They have to get him at a good price. If they cannot get him for what they want, then they need to let him walk away because 1-tech DTs are cheap and easy to find.
