Dallas Cowboys Targets: Senior Bowl Standouts
CB Ifeatu Melifonwu
Syracuse
Standing 6-2, 212lbs, Melifonwu was a guy everyone in Cowboys Nation had their eye on this week. The perfect build for the Dallas Cowboys Cover 3, he was a player often slotted to Dallas early.
Practice didn’t start great. He was beaten twice early in his first practice but he quickly corrected that put together one of the best weeks of anyone in his position group. He played a little apprehensively on Saturday night and didn’t seem to stand out one way or the other, but all in all, Melifonwu put together a great week.
CB, Keith Taylor
Washington
Keith Taylor, 6-foot-3, 195lbs, is another player the Dallas Cowboys likely had their eyes on. He came into the week with a reputation to struggle against man coverage, but Senior Bowl week he looked comfortable and fairly strong in everything that was asked of him.
A natural coverman down the sideline, Taylor showed awareness and some ball-tracking skills on Saturday’s action. If Dallas opts not to go CB early, Taylor could be a nice selection later with some obvious scheme fit.
CB Benjamin St-Juste
Minnesota
He’s another CB in the mold the Dallas Cowboys are looking for. The linier athlete stands 6-foot-3 200 lbs. He tracked the ball well and showed good awareness playing the sideline. He was tested often and came up big.
He may have moved up the Dallas Cowboys draft board the most of this group.
