Dallas Cowboys 7-Round Mock Draft: Protecting strengths/fixing weakness
By Reid Hanson
Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft
Round 3, Pick 99
Andre Cisco, SAF
Syracuse
Andre Cisco has been a favorite in Cowboys Nation for a while but someone I’ve always resisted. He has tremendous ball skills, sure, but the kid gambles. A lot. And that’s something that concerns me coming from the last line of defense.
But the value is strong here and I do think he can learn to be an opportunistic gambler who knows when he can and when he can’t roll the dice.
Like just about everyone on the planet, Richie Grant is my favorite safety prospect. But the buzz on him is nationwide and I have a feeling he’s going to be gone long before Dallas picks in the second round. In addition to that, Dallas usually shies away from picking safeties early in the draft so we should all probably get used to the idea they’ll go after someone in the 75-125 range.
With 13 career interceptions, Cisco is the leader of his draft class. He’s modestly built at 6-foot-nuthin’ and 203 lbs. but he’s a capable defender in single high or split safety looks.
