Dallas Cowboys Round Six

Jaelon Darden – Wide Receiver – North Texas

Earlier the Cowboys picked up a slot receiver with some serious speed and now the Cowboys go back to receiver with a guy who has the agility and moves to get into the open field. Darden has speed, but as a slot receiver he offers some ability to in smaller spaces that Schwartz doesn’t always show. Offensive tackle or corner is an option here as well.

Darden is shifty and leaves defenders in his wake. He can break free with some moves, accelerate and get yards quickly. He can be special as a returner, receiver, and even as a gadget coming out of the backfield. What he lacks in size, he makes up for in vertical threat and shifty moves.

Darden has work in his route tree and should never be seen as an outside threat. His catch radius isn’t huge, but he is a smart receiver with solid hands. He has to be schemed a little to get a free release, but not a huge issue with the right OC. Keep Darden as a weapon and don’t expect him to be more than what he is.

Other picks: Jaylon Moore and Tay Gowan
