Round Five – Pick 179 – Simi Fehoko – Wide Receiver – Stanford

One of the things the Cowboys need on both sides of the ball is pure speed. There were some wide receivers that were the best players at 179, and looking at the players, Fehoko fit. I think he offers some flexibility to play inside and out with his speed and could develop to replace Gallup next season if the Cowboys don’t keep him.

Fehoko flashes some serious traits that teams will love. He has the ability to take the roof off of defenses and eats up yards after the catch. He has a good frame and uses it to shield defensive backs while he uses his large catch radius to haul in passes. Off the line, he can explode to top speed quickly. His speed and agility will also draw attention to be a possible kick returner.

Fehoko needs to work on getting in and out of breaks better as he will round his routes. He has had some drops and some of it looks to be a product of him still learning the position. He is a little older at 24 but is still on the rise in terms of his development. He will need to get a little stronger I think before being asked to be a full-time outside receiver.
