Tyler Coyle – Safety – Purdue via UConn

Tyler Coyle is an athletic marvel to watch play football. With a blazing 4.36 40 time and 24 reps at 225 pounds, he all the athleticism to play both safety and linebacker, but would need to add some size to play linebacker at the next level.

His UConn tape was better than Purdue and he looked more reactive and understood the defense better. He tracks the ball well and uses his length and speed to get to the ball and knock it down. He will cover ground quickly and get up on receivers faster than they expect.

Coyle looked passive at Purdue and at times a step slow in processing. While this could be a part of the new team and a strange 2020 season, it was of note. When asked to come downhill in run support he can get stood up by linemen and washed out of a play. He will need to add some size to play strong safety at the next level.

Coyle has all the athletic traits a team could want. Just going off his UConn tape, he is a sleeper to make the team if he can play Dallas Cowboys special teams. He needs some development, but could easily turn some heads.
