Austin Faoliu – Defensive Tackle – Oregon

Faoliu explodes out of his stance every play and quickly looks for the ball behind the line to distinguish run or pass. He has a high motor and is always looking for a way to engage in the play. He does well to work down the line and hit holes as he sees them. If he can bully a lineman he will take the opportunity to do so.

He brings the Dallas Cowboys awareness and effort. He has some intangibles like his get-off but he’s also high effort and smart. Faoliu will need to be a 3T or maybe 5T at the next level as explosive as he is, his power doesn’t match.

His traits jump, but there has been mediocre production which may be due to how he was used at Oregon or more to his power and balance issues. His hands are active but lack refinement. Pass rush moves currently are about him trying to bull rush.

Faoliu will need to work on converting speed to power and developing more pass rush moves. His lateral movement will be enticing and he shows enough explosiveness to hit gaps he could stick around on the practice squad.
