Osirus Mitchell – Wide Receiver – Mississippi State

Mitchell is one of those players the Dallas Cowboys have focused on gaining in 2021, length and range to get to space on the field.

Standing at 6’5” the first thing you see when watching Mitchell is his ability to go up and catch the ball at the highest point. He has a huge catch radius and tracks the ball over his shoulder exceptionally well. With his size, he is willing to go over the middle and does well to shield defensive backs with his frame.

The downside is Mitchell is a one-speed receiver who is more striding than he is fast. Because his routes are not as crisp and his release is inconsistent he struggles to create separation, which he overcomes because of his size. There are not many instances of him breaking a lot of tackles, so usually, the first defender usually brings him down.

If Mitchell can get his routes quicker in and out of breaks he would be a possession-type receiver at the next level. His ability to go over the middle against smaller players helps his case, but for now, he is a bottom of the roster receiver who has the physical traits the team likes.
