Dallas Stars’ Injuries

The Dallas Stars were decimated with injuries before the season even began, and it continued all the way to the final days. Tyler Seguin and Ben Bishop were ruled out for most of the season after offseason surgeries. That alone would have been a large bit of adversity to overcome. It only continued from there.

From Jamie Benn, Blake Comeau, and Joel Kiviranta in game one, to Roope Hintz and Alexander Radulov playing through injuries, the Dallas Stars were never really able to roll out a healthy lineup. Many players either never returned or played through injuries and others were not at 100% when they did return. The full list of injuries has not been disclosed by General Manager Jim Nill as of yet but it is expected to be a large one.

What we do know is that Tyler Seguin will continue his rehab after offseason surgeries, Roope Hintz will need surgery to repair his groin, and Ben Bishop and Alexander Radulov will rehab from their surgeries. We witnessed this season that a timeline for recovery is not a guarantee as Ben Bishop never made his way back into the Stars’ lineup.

Multiple players will be looking to get back to full strength and above this summer. It will be imperative that Dallas drops the puck next season with a fully healthy lineup. If they can do so, they will jump right back up on the list of Stanley Cup contenders.
