Dallas Cowboys position group: LB

The linebackers get a ton of heat after last year, but this group is one of the deeper positions on the roster. Now that the Cowboys appear to have addressed the defensive line, the linebackers should be better, regardless of who is on the field. The Cowboys did sign Keanu Neal and drafted two more linebackers this year, but already have Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch on the team. With five viable starters on the roster, linebacker might be a little too deep and some moves may have to be made. With Micah Parsons and Jabril Cox both in the mix, the depth behind the top five has Luke Gifford, Francis Bernard, Azur Kamara, and rookie Anthony Hines.

The Cowboys will probably cut two or three of the depth guys and move Hines to the practice squad, but the top five are pretty much set in stone. As long as the defensive line plays better, the linebacker corps should be fine and we could see 2020 as a blip for the group. The Cowboys could move some of the players around to help their pass rush, which would help another thin group. How the Cowboys decide to play their linebackers should also keep more players fresh, as teams are using more two linebacker sets, and with the additions it looks like the Cowboys could move in that direction.
