Dallas Cowboys Offense

Wide receivers (6) Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson, Noah Brown, Simi Fohoko

If the Dallas Cowboys are playing it safe, the top-5 are all locks to make the team. Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup form the best WR trio in the NFL. They’ve played in the system before and are reliable targets for Dak Prescott. Best yet, their best football is still ahead of them all.

Cedrick Wilson is also the extremely safe play to make. He’s smart, versatile, and well liked. He’s expensive but since he backs up all three WR spots, he’s worth the price for any safe-minded strategy.

Noah Brown is all about raising the floor. He’s a brilliant moving blocker (a rare thing at WR) and doesn’t demand the ball. Even though he has some drops in his past, he has good natural ball skills and can make the grab in traffic and/or up high. He’s a nice red zone piece and someone they can’t lose if they really are trying to play it safe.

The only possible question is at WR6. Simi gets the spot because of his upside and draft position but the kid is raw and more of a one trick pony at this point in his career. If the Dallas Cowboys are playing it safe they may like the undrafted rookie Brandon Smith more. Smith is a better route-runner and he’s also a better blocker. Smith is big and strong with long arms (something Dallas coaches love). Or heck, the Cowboys could opt to skip WR6 altogether since a true safe option doesn’t exist.
