Dallas Cowboys Final 53-man roster prediction

Wide Receiver (6)

Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Noah Brown, Cedrick Wilson, Semi Fehoko

The first three are obvious and don’t require explanation. The fun comes in WR4-6. Noah Brown has had a brilliant training camp and preseason and absolutely locked down a role with this club once again. Wilson also had a strong camp and even though he’s high-priced, he’ll likely rotate with Brown at WR4.

The Dallas Cowboys could end it there and just keep five WRs on the roster. No one, not even the rookie Semi Fehoko, has proven much this preseason and look like they can contribute much if thrust into a big role. But I suspect the Cowboys want to groom their rookie and will protect the pick – thus going six deep at WR this year.

Dallas Cowboys Tight End (3)

Blake Jarwin, Dalton Shultz, Sean McKeon

Blake Jarwin is back and with him comes a special downfield passing element to the tight end group. Jarwin can operate down the seam like no one else and is going to get his fair share of TE1 snaps. Perhaps joining him at TE1 is Dalton Schultz. Last year’s injury replacement has carved out quite the role for himself. Schultz is the best blocker on the team and a versatile piece in 11 personnel groups.

Finally, I’m putting Sean McKeon on the roster even though he has the dreaded high ankle sprain. Jeremy Sprinkle has done nothing to make me think he deserves a roster spot and with Nick Ralston possibly wearing two hats, I think the Cowboys can tread water here with just two tight ends early  (assuming or course Dalton Schultz gets medically cleared).

Note:  I also wouldn’t be surprised to see McKeon going on IR just to stash and save him.
