The Dallas Cowboys are five days away from kicking off the regular season against the Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccanneers. The team has completed its four preseason games without dealing with any significant injuries.  Dallas is already rolling into the season with a win; love to see it.

With the NFL undergoing its first 17-game season in the history of the league, there should hopefully be a lot of records broken for the Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott is itching to get back onto the field after missing significant time with injuries. Paired with his starting offensive linemen, wide receiver trio, tight end duo, and running back duo the sky is the limit for the offense.

Defensively things can’t get worse than last season. The run defense was nonexistent, the pass defense couldn’t gain any momentum. A 2020 week 13 loss to the Baltimore Ravens showed the oddity of last year’s situation. The secondary look noticeably distraught after allowing only 107 yards to former MVP Lamar Jackson because the run defense gave up almost 300 yards.

It was only the preseason, but the starting defense looked noticeably better. The team was playing faster and more aggressively. The preconceived idea that Dan Quinn would be running a blitz-averse, single high defense has seemingly been shattered as the defense has been increasingly multiple at the line of scrimmage with more split-safety looks.

It’s hard not getting optimistic about the current state of Dallas, especially with the current state of their division, but with how much is going in their favor,  it would take a lot of bad luck for them to fall flat on their stomach. *knocks on wood*

I’ve decided in everyone’s best interest that I’m going to make four bold predictions for the 2021 Dallas Cowboys season!

Onto bold prediction number one…
